Multidisciplinary exhibition
Kunst in het Dorp is a multidisciplinary exhibition in which some 35 artists will display their works in an integrated manner throughout the various rooms and in the garden of a historic site, the Ter Loo castle-monastery in Bellingen (Pepingen), located in the Pajottenland region. Kunst in het Dorp 2027 will also take place in the abbey church of Bellingen and at other locations along a walking route from the castle-monastery to the abbey church.
The working group is seeking artists to apply to participate in the following art forms, among others: painting and drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, audiovisual art, multimedia art, paper art, textile art, word art, music, green art, land art, glass art, conceptual art, and (site-specific) installation art.
The following criteria for selection are essential and crucial:
- the quality of the artworks
- the originality (in terms of theme, subject, concept, technique, design, nature, size, etc.)
- the integration (fitting presentation both indoors and outdoors)
- the variety of style within the participating disciplines.
In our vision, interaction and dialogue are central: with the surroundings, with the historical context or the contemporary use of the location or the designated space, or possibly with the artworks of a fellow artist.
Open call with participation fee
- The participation fee is €150. This includes: a participation fee, insurance, the opening reception, promotional materials both digital (a page on the website www.kunstinhetdorp.be) and non-digital (printed materials: invitations, visitor brochure), and lighting for your works where deemed necessary.
- After you have been notified of your selection, each participating artist pays the participation fee.
Disclaimer: Kunstwerkt encourages organisers to keep open calls accessible. There is a participation fee for this open call. We explicitly state these costs to enable you, as an artist, to make an informed decision.
