Carmen Pazos Magariños

Sint-Gillis, Belgium

Carmen Pazos Magariños (born in Pontevedra, 1994) is a Spanish transdisciplinary artist based in Brussels.  Influenced by her multinational experiences having resided for long periods in Spain, Japan and Belgium, her artistic production often revolves around the cultural parallels and interactions that occur in an increasingly globalised world.  Within her artistic research-based practice, she combines media such as photography, painting, performance, drawing and text.  She also has a particular interest in experimenting with the use and production of sustainable materials, which has led to the incorporation of biomaterials and the reuse of organic matter in her work in recent years.

She holds a Fine Arts degree from Kyoto Seika University and a Master’s degree in Photography from LUCA School of Arts in Brussels. She has perform solo at the historical 2M3 space in Brussels in March 2025. Her work has been included in group shows at The Green Corridor (Brussels), CENTRALE (Brussels), S.M.A.K. (Gent), De Studio(Antwerp), Museo Provincial (Pontevedra), Sano Gallery (Kyoto) and the festival Onboards in Antwerp. In March 2026, she will carry out a residency at The Green Corridor in Brussels.
