Alexandra Fraser

Berchem, België

multi-disciplinary artist interested in embodiment

exploring contemporary feminist folklore through materiality

Based in Antwerp, Belgium, Alexandra creates work that moves between flesh and fiction — exploring the body as both a boundary and a bridge. Her practice spans installation, performance, and collaborative projects, weaving together questions of sensuality, power, and representation. She celebrates the body as a site of resistance and renewal, a place where desire, vulnerability, and strength coexist.

Drawing from her studies — a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, a Foundation in Art from the Bristol School of Art (UK), and a Master’s in Visual Arts from Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp — Alexandra works with a wide range of media to investigate how we experience and imagine embodiment in a digital age. Her work engages with cyber-feminist ideas, reclaiming narratives of the female body through materiality and touch. Materials such as textile, glass, and clay suggest how touch, texture, and fragility can reflect human experience.

Collaboration is central to her practice. She works with communities and in collective settings to create new spaces for intimacy in times of isolation — from a clay studio with people living with psychiatric challenges to an artist residency she organises in the UK, which brings together contemporary art and traditional craft. Teaching, writing, and community engagement form the connective tissue of her practice, deepening her ongoing dialogue between art, care, and resistance.
