Ali Almir Mostafa is a Syrian artist based in Belgium since 2022. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Damascus University (Syria), earned in 2013. Currently, he works part-time in stained glass making and restoration at Atelier Mestdagh, while pursuing his own path as an independent visual artist—sculptor, ceramist, and multidisciplinary creator.

Ali’s artistic practice spans drawing, digital illustration, and ceramics. Deeply fascinated by the human form—particularly the face—he places the body at the center of his creative exploration, using it both as a subject and as a vessel for expression.

His sculptural work delves into bodily representations at the threshold of transformation: bodies forming, bodies confined, bodies as tools, and bodies as vessels. Through this lens, Ali examines the physicality of the human figure as a metaphor for internal psychological states and emotional landscapes.

Constructing a visual theatre of limbs, heads, and expressive poses, his work captures the complexity of human emotion. His archetypal figures embody a wide emotional spectrum—from elegant composure to raw vulnerability, from pride to surrender, from presence to discomfort. Each piece serves as a meditation on the emotional and symbolic weight the body carries, revealing a quiet, often unresolved tension beneath the surface.

Ali also treats the surface of his sculptures as a narrative space—using glazes, textures, and color as a second language to deepen the story each form tells. These chromatic choices are not merely decorative; they are imbued with meaning, adding another dimension to his ongoing exploration of identity, emotion, and transformation.
