War echoes

My project explores the continuous transformation of bodies, identities, and images in the digital era, where information and visual content compete for attention and immediate consumption. Within this condition, visual overabundance not only saturates perception but also functions as a persistent echo—a reverberation of images that repeat, distort, and amplify themselves. This dynamic parallels the way in which the narratives and violence of war continue to resonate beyond their point of origin.

Painting operates here as a space of resonance, where the echo of war is not presented through direct representation, but through fragmentation, distortion, and repetition. Hybrid figures—situated between the human, the animal, and the mechanical—emerge as bodies traversed by these shockwaves, as if they were remnants or mutations generated by an event that continues to unfold. The pictorial field thus becomes a site in which the bellic persists as a visual vibration: an echo that reshapes forms, destabilizes identities, and reconfigures the landscape.

In this context, painting allows for a deceleration and re-materialization of images that otherwise circulate fleetingly in digital space. It creates a framework in which this echo can be inhabited and made visible. The figure of the cyborg appears not only as an integration of the organic, the inorganic, and the virtual, but also as a body marked by the repetition of violence—an entity that embodies the traces, interferences, and ongoing resonances of a conflict that never fully dissipates.
