Veldwerk #09: Vlindertuin and Biodiversiteitsmuseum (Zutendaal)

On Sunday 14 June, we will be heading to the Belevingscentrum Biodiversiteit Lieteberg in Zutendaal. We will settle down in the Butterfly Garden, a place where colours, patterns and details flutter around. We invite you to let your lines buzz, scribble or curl, just like the insects themselves. We will work both on site and with photographs, so you can capture every wing vein, dot or armour shine at your own pace.

From graceful butterfly wings to sturdy beetle shells: you choose whether to focus on accurate observation, rhythmic sketches, graphic patterns or playful experimentation. Perhaps this will inspire new work in your sketchbook? Wietse Palmans is an artist who has long been inspired by these tiny creatures, and he is eager to share his enthusiasm with you.
