GRID
What is GRID?
GRID is an exhibition and development platform for the one page comic: a compact form of visual storytelling in which a complete narrative unfolds within a single page. This format has a rich history within magazines and publications, but has largely disappeared from public view. GRID reactivates this form as a fully-fledged literary and artistic practice, and offers a concrete platform for both emerging and established creators.
With GRID, Pulp deLuxe not only reactivates this specific format, but also contributes to strengthening the broader ecosystem around visual storytelling: from experimentation and talent development to publication and audience engagement.
The name GRID refers to the classic panels in which comics are constructed. This structure organises time and space and has long been a fundamental element of the medium. At the same time, it is not a fixed system: some artists follow it, others break away from it entirely. GRID positions itself precisely within this field of tension.
We encourage artists to use, distort or abandon the grid, and to develop their own visual language and narrative within a single page. The exhibition brings together a selection of works that reflect what is currently happening within contemporary visual storytelling.

About the organisation
Spinmolenplein

Since 2003, Pulp deLuxe has been dedicated to showcasing and supporting experimental and innovative voices within the comic and graphic novel landscape. Operating on a volunteer-driven basis, the organization positions itself as an active player within the civil society of our niche: a place where talent development, reflection, and presentation meet. GRID was developed in response to the question of how a volunteer-driven initiative can deploy its energy as effectively as possible: by concentrating efforts on a single, clearly defined project that simultaneously generates maximum visibility, support, and opportunities for creators.
