About us
Rock Olmen and De Kruierie are joining forces based on an idea by Balen’s cultural ambassador, Belinda Salden, to create space for visual arts at the festival. Will your work soon be on display at the festival site, which attracts around 10,000 visitors?!
What are we looking for?
Visual, 3D artwork that fits the theme “LISTEN”; see additional details below.
This work (or multiple works) should be placed at the festival entrance, where we have a 3 x 3 meter space and the option to work up to approximately 6 meters in height. The organization can also provide a scaffold. See also the photos of the location in question.
What do we offer?
- Performance opportunity at a music festival expected to draw approximately 10,000 visitors over two days.
- The organizers can, following mutual agreement, assist with setup and provide a scaffold to position the artwork at height.

Theme 'Listen'
In 2026, De Kruierie will focus on the annual theme “LISTEN”: a quest for sound and silence, for listening and being heard, for peace and resonance in a world full of stimuli.
We would like to extend this theme to the art project with Rock Olmen, so the submitted works should fit within this theme.

De Kruierie is the community center in Balen where you can enjoy activities in your time off, and which also houses the library. It’s a gathering place where there’s always something going on.
Rock Olmen is the annual music festival in Olmen, a part of Balen. The festival takes place every July and features a stellar lineup each year, showcasing a mix of national and international alternative talent.
