Buggenhout Art Prize 2026 for graphics and drawing
Are you a dedicated visual artist with a passion for PRINTMAKING or DRAWING? Kunstraad Buggenhout (Buggenhout Arts Council) warmly invites you to take part in the Buggenhout Art Prize 2026. This annual prize was established in 1980 by the Buggenhout artist Pieter Vanneste (1939–2004) – in collaboration with the local council – to celebrate and support exceptional talent within the visual arts. This year, the focus is on the disciplines of printmaking and drawing.
In addition to the recognition and a cash prize of 1,000 euros for the winning artist, Kunstraad Buggenhout is offering all selected participants a joint exhibition of their works during the month of December. The works will be insured for their actual market value during that period.

De Kunstraad (The Arts Council) is the point of contact and/or co-organiser for umbrella cultural arts organisations such as Kunstwerkt and Cultuurloket, and acts as a mediator between these organisations and the Buggenhout Artists.
De Kunstraad is the point of contact for inter-municipal art projects.
Whilst artists often work on their visual art in isolation, De Kunstraad also sees it as its role, through organising exhibitions and other events, to bring artists together so that they can exchange information and support one another.
Through its organisation of and participation in artistic events, de Kunstraad encourages interaction and crossovers with other art forms such as music, dance, singing, poetry and literature, with a view to promoting social and cultural cohesion within the municipality’s arts and culture policy.
