KIOSK zoekt vaderschap-geboortekaartjes
For a group exhibition on fathering and fatherhood opening at the end of October 2026, KIOSK is looking for birth cards created by father-artists to celebrate the birth of their own child(ren).
The exhibition explores the relationship between fatherhood and artistic practice. While becoming a parent profoundly reshapes daily life, time, attention and artistic production, one of the very first creative acts after (or even before) a child's birth is often the design of a birth card. Intimate in scale yet public in purpose, it announces the arrival of a new life while revealing something about the maker at a pivotal moment in their own.
We would love to include a collection of these birth cards in the exhibition, bringing together many different approaches—from carefully crafted graphic designs to improvised photocopies, from understated gestures to exuberant visual statements. Together, they would form a modest collective portrait of artists entering fatherhood.
If you designed the birth card for your own child(ren) and would be happy for it to be exhibited, please send it to us by post:

Since 2010, KIOSK has been developing an idiosyncratic program on Campus Bijloke in which the artist is central. Within the special architectural framework of the exhibition space, the former anatomical theater of the Clinical and Outpatient Institute, KIOSK shows the work of both emerging and established names. The projects arise in dialogue with the artists and are always the result of a longer development process. The focus is on new productions, whether or not supplemented with existing works. KIOSK fulfills a signal function by having an eye for experimentation, cultural and artistic diversity. It keeps its finger on the pulse of the evolutions within art and society. From January 2021 onwards, KIOSK will expand its activities online, using its website as a platform for online art projects.
