Home Again
She wasn't waiting for the right moment.
The right moment was waiting for her.
I started this painting in the summer of 2023. At the time, I already felt something shifting. For years I had been working with epoxy, but deep down I knew I wanted to find my way back to painting.
The funny thing about knowing and doing is that they are not always the same thing.
So she waited.
For a long time she remained unfinished. At one point she even disappeared into the basement, quietly collecting dust while life moved on.
Until this spring.
When I picked up my brushes and returned to her, I realized this painting wasn't only about the woman in the image.
It was also about trusting a new direction.
About letting go of what had become familiar.
About finding my way back home.
