With ‘Pet Shop’, you get the chance to exhibit in a summer exhibition at the Old House of Kunsthal Gent. From feathered friends, to fluffy four-legged friends, from paintings to etchings and textiles: all two-dimensional pets will be included.

Some artists work with an arsenal of pencils and brushes, smudge with ink or smear more than they care to. Others instead go digital, like Aya Akbib.

Why limit yourself to a uniform sketchbook of which you can find heaps? How a sketchbook can take all possible forms is illustrated by Maarten.

For Maria, a new way of working unfolded when she exchanged her permanent workplace - a desk - for an outdoor bench, with a sketchbook in her hand.
