The past tense

The past tense is made from a discarded fragment of sandstone onto which an image of concrete architecture has been transferred using analogue silver-gelatin processes. The broken, irregular stone contrasts with the solidity and geometry of the architecture it carries. Image and object merge into something resembling a fossil or archaeological remnant: a fragment from a past that never existed.
